In the first round of the 2026 US Open singles qualifying tournament, following victories by Zheng Qinwen and Huang Zelin yesterday, Buyunchaokete and Yuan Yue also secured wins, bringing the total to four Chinese players advancing past the first round of qualification.

In the first round, Zheng Qinwen defeated compatriot You Xiaodi 2-0, while Huang Zelin came from behind to win 2-1, with both advancing first through the opening stage. In today's ongoing qualifying matches, Chinese players continued to make their mark.
Buyunchaokete fought a three-set battle, coming from behind to defeat Rio Noguchi 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the second round. After the match, he stated that the first set was very close and he missed some opportunities, leading to some impatience. However, he was able to play more freely later on, going on a run that not only broke his opponent’s resistance but also made him play more easily.
In an all-Chinese women's singles match, Yuan Yue defeated Guo Hanyu 6-2, 6-4, marking her first career win over Guo Hanyu and advancing to the second round of qualifying. Yuan Yue said she maintained steady performance throughout the match and was very happy to achieve victory. Having not performed well at the previous two Grand Slams, she hopes to start well at the US Open.
