On July 30, the Chinese Professional Football League Disciplinary Committee issued an official sanction regarding a violent incident in the Chinese Super League Round 20 match between Liaoning Tieren and Qingdao West Coast. Liaoning’s foreign player Guy Mbenza was sent off for violent conduct and has been handed a four-match suspension along with a fine of RMB 40,000.

Incident Review:
During the match on July 25, a controversial moment occurred in the 32nd minute. Mbenza clashed with Qingdao veteran Zhang Chengdong during a challenge and pushed him to the ground.

The referee immediately stopped play, and after a VAR review, ruled that Mbenza’s action constituted violent retaliation. He was shown a straight red card. The decision significantly impacted the match, as Liaoning, reduced to ten men, eventually lost 0–1 to Qingdao West Coast.
