Wang Shuang Leads China Squad

On July 31, the Chinese Football Association released the fifth training squad of the China women’s national team for 2026. The team will hold a training camp in Suzhou and Japan from August 7 to October 3, and compete in the women’s football tournament at the 20th Asian Games.

Compared with the previous camp, the squad has undergone notable changes. Liu Chen, Wang Linlin, Ye Tong, Jiang Chenjing, Yan Qi, Jin Kun, and Guo Nan were left out, while Peng Shimeng, Zhang Rui, Wang Ying, Yuan Cong, Sun Fangxin, and Si Yu have been called up.

At the 2026 Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games, China has been drawn into Group G alongside the Philippines, Uzbekistan, and Hong Kong, China. The Philippines, ranked 39th in the world, is the strongest opponent besides China, while Uzbekistan and Hong Kong are relatively weaker. As an Asian Cup semifinalist and a top-seeded team, China has received a favorable draw. Their opening match is scheduled for September 14, with the final set for October 2.
